settings with gksudo / sudo and the problem was always there. So please

I saw this problem with Intrepid (9.04) on a Lenovo X301 with the Mobile
Intel GMA 4500 MHD (integrated), but I haven't seen the problem since
Jaunty (9.10). As a mobile laptop using I xrandr for different external
screens and projectors a couple of times a day.
The Xrandr applet has its quirks
Running Karmic final and this issue has not been fixed. This wasn't an
issue in 9.04. I don't think issue #289728 is a duplicate. I am running
xinerama + nvidia v185 drivers. The issue takes a few hours to manifest
itself. Tangent: am surprised at the number of regressions in Karmic.

OK, sorry, but I may need some help in obtaining the requested logs: on
jaunty I had the thin clients set up to send their logs to the server in
specified client subdirectories, using syslog-ng. Karmic uses rsyslog by
default, and I haven't yet figured out how to open this up for external
logging.

Thanks, I will set something up and obtain the logs. It may take some time,
because I only have intermittent access (I can only boot into the karmic
system when this does not disturb regular operation. I re-instated jaunty on

I tried rc7 too and it gave me a system lock with kms immediately. So I
