I confirm that the crash happens here:
Ubuntu 10.04 64 bits, Synfig Studio 0.63.02
I imagine that the issue is with the Alpha Brighten blend mode and maybe it is
related to something with 32 vs 64 bits, so that's the reason that in the old
computer it doesn't crash.
Can you confirm the data specifications (included 32 or 64 bits) from the old
computer?
Also, meanwhile we find a solution for this, please try to achieve same effect
on avoiding the buggy Alpha Brighten blend mode.
We are so sorry for the inconvenience.
Cheers
Carlos

Carlos,
Hi Wender,
Looking to the input information it seems that the crash is due to a 'delete'
operation performed over a pointer that has not allocated the memory with the
command 'new' or that it has been already deleted before. It is weird, because
if it were like that, it would happen always, in any computer.
Most of the time, just drag the mouse over the timeline, the program is closed.
My second clue is that you say you're using Ubuntu 4.10 64 bits... That's from
2004! before Synfig were released as Open Source for the first time! Are you
sure that you're suing Ubuntu 4.10 Warty Warthog? Maybe it is 10.04 Lucid Lynx?
Sorry, I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit. The error must be because I'm using a
translator :)

Already tested with 10.04 and the 11.04, 32 and 64bit on both computers.
In the former does not give any problems.
Which are the specifications of the old computer?
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L
3 gigs of memory
HD 320 gigs SAMSUMG
Geforce 9400GT
Zelgadis,
Already tried installing the deb files and also compiling.
Always gives the same error.
...
Usually this error occurs when using a combination of groups, layers and alpha
transformation brighten. But closures have occurred in other files.
The file that gives more error is this (ospedado is on my website):
www.cimcomunica.com/images/teste.sifz
The strange thing is that the old computer, this error does not occur.

Another thing I noticed is that in other programs that involve animation and
video editing are also experiencing sudden shutdowns.
I think it is problem of Synfig. That is what happened with Blender3D and also
in Kdenlive. However, in Blender3D only happened once. In Kdenlive fraquência
already occurs most, but not always. In Synfig, depending on what I'm doing, it
is impossible to work. I thought I'd ask for help from you, since the problem
with Synfig is much more frequent.
I took an animation service with a client of mine and I would love to work in
Synfig ...
I'm wondering if this is not a problem in relation to the same hardware,
because I have not tested it with another motherboard or processor. It can also
be any mismatch or BIOS setup, do not think I would have some relationship, but
it could be the way the software accesses some hardware.
Thank you for your attention.
