Hi,

I tested the ekiga-snapshot package from snapshots.ekiga.net in version
20080901v01intrepid4 and sadly didn't manage to do anything useful with
 them.

 these are my notes:
 - not parallel installable, conflicts with other packages (notably
   ekiga which is a dep of ubuntu-desktop) but uses "/usr/bin/ekiga";
why not simply name the package ekiga?! or make it parallel
   installable
 - gconf error in postinst: failed to parse default value `' for schema
   (/schemas/apps/ekiga/contacts/roster_folded_groups
 - gconf error on startup (happend twice then disappeared)
 - popup on startup about network settings which need to be configured
manually; looks like it was an issue with either ufw or some vm stuff
I have installed, clearing iptables rules fixed it
 - doesn't show v4l device name in setup wizard when listing audio and
   video input devices
 - doesn't select v4l device by default in setup wizard (prefers
defaulting to logo and MIC line of sound card on my desktop...)
 - locking assertion failures on console in libxcb :-/
 - icon is almost exactly the same as empathy in notification area
 + exits fast
 - "Chat" menu to "Quit" is weird, probably not GNOME HIG compliant
 - "Account" menu in Accounts window doesn't look like a menu (no
underscore); not easy to see where to add an account
 - When actually using SIP: "Cannot copy from empty list to master RTP
   session list" error
 - window resizes itself to the old size whenever I try to resize it
 - "FIXME" appears with no reference on stderr/stdout
 - REGISTERs were sent twice because I had two local interfaces (one for
virtualbox); this was very confusing for the SIP registrars and
caused ekiga to think I wasn't registered when I really was (only the
   second register was failing)
+ webcam display worked, despite being broken/unsupported in cheese
