But I also had troubles to turn of the IDE and that should work by hdparm?! Anyhow, since I have a new DVDRAM I know that the noise wasn't from my hard disk drives. I need to check what's the load (W) for the hard disks, just to be turned on isn't bad for the drives. I should get an external hard disk, but I don't have the money. If the drives should need much watts, I should figure out what's bad with hdparm or try sdparm.
