As far as I know, the TERRATEC only needs a cable without any
microchips. It should be all on the card. The problem seems to be, that
there are MIDI IOs and a connection for a phono pre-amp at the d-sub
connector, so it's not classical gameport wired. I might be wrong, I can
take a look, if there is an UART/ ACIA and opto-couplers. By the way, it
also should work without opto-couplers. The opto-couplers 'only' protect
against hum and differences by the electric potential. Okay, differences
by the electric potential can damage the equipment. Another thought is,
that I still soldered the cable correctly, but there is no software driver.

Hm?! Maybe I'm wrong and you're right, in the TERRATEC manual they are
talking about an adapter-kit. I've got the resistors on stock, but no
opto-couplers and here's no electronic shop, I have to order them, resp.
I will call a friend, maybe he has got some opto-couplers on stock. By
the way, I've got the card from this friend, maybe he will remember that
he added opto-couplers to his cable, when I ask him for some ;).

I didn't know that there are some cards without opto-couplers. A nice
trick of the companies. The only better trick would be a special
connector on the card, instead of a 2x 8 header. Something that only is
produced by the company the card is from, than there only is a trick
needed, to make it impossible to replace the connector.

Anyway, I'll try to compile Qtractor tomorrow.

Thank you,
Ralf
