Yes, I understand what you are saying, in that some of the top mastering
houses still use their horrendously expensive analogue equipment.  Just
know that the main reason why they dis digital mastering is BECAUSE they
paid so much for those mastering riggs, and want to maintain exclusivity.

This I have been watching for tens years or more as a sound engineer (Live
and studio)
A lot of analogue stuff was designed for road use and thus cost  a fortune.

We don't really need this ruggedness in a studio now and can get great
results from cheaper equipment.
Must  be a real bugbear when someone produces excellent music on budget
equipment.

Would people downloading a track they like stop and think, I wont buy that
as it was done on a behringer desk, never going to happen.
They download because they like the music, and this is the only criteria
they use.

Plus it then get converted to Ogg or mp3.
This is the greatest time to be into music of any description ans it's all
changing so fast, enjoy the ride!
