I know you haven't asked the list to read something like this, but since you seem to be a newbie to Linux(-Audio)... Start with the native stuff! Try it out, give it a chance! Don't get me wrong: I don't say this, because I think that you as a newbie can not be a member of the exclusive Linux-Audio-Gurus that are allowed to handle VST on Linux. I just guess that you haven't had the time to get an idea, how powerful LADSPA really is. Using the WINE-stuff can really be a pain in the ass! (FST and all this is based on WINE.) WINE is amazing - but it's not a 100%-substitute for a native Windows-Environment. This goes for all Windows-applications - but especially in a realtime environment! So, this is my advice: Only, if your not satisfied with the native Linux-Audio tools or if your whole work depends on one certain sound of a VST-Plugin that can not be substituted by LADSPA and friends - go for FST and stuff. But keep in mind: Although the WINE-project is doing a great job, the Windows-application you want to integrate in Linux will always be a "Fremdkörper". (For all those, who are not familiar with the german language: It's like an alien element.) My opinion is this: If you want to use VST, go for Windows or Mac OS. (Keep in mind, that my opinion is not representative for the list... :) ) Sorry, I wasn't helpful with your very problem, but you might have guessed that I'm not using VST on Linux (and never did) and therefore I simply can't help you because I don't know nothing about it... By the way: I'm happy not to use VST... ;) Greetings Mitsch _______________________________________________ 64studio-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-users
