A device attached to the IDE controller has failed.
It maybe either the hard drive, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/CD-RW drives or a ZIP
drive.

Disconnect all IDE devices from the IDE ribbon cables, except the hard
drive (with the PC off) and attempt to boot the system.
Consult your Dell system manual on instruction on how to open and
service your PC.

If the system will not boot the hard drive may have failed.
Contact a local PC service provider, or Dell tech support, for a
replacement drive.
