You are correct. My repaired computer is a Dell 4300. I bought in 1991. I only got a restore cd also. Word, and a host of other programs were pre-installed but no cd's for any of them. I bought mine the week before XP came out and I only had the choice of Windows ME which is what I got. When my hard drive died a couple of weeks ago, i had to have the repair guy install XP because I didn't have a copy of Windows ME to give him to install on the new hard drive. At least he gave me the XP cd. Arianne
