Good Morning, I got a fun surprise this morning. My desktop looked the
same as always. I clicked on the Firefox icon to open it and the
screen went black. Nothing would revive it. These are the steps I've
taken so far:
1) I rebooted. The usual system check began, numbers scroll, etc. Fine.
2) Get black screen. No windows.
3) Reboot. Set bios to boot from CD. Insert Windows XP Home CD.
4) Chose to "Repair" Windows installation.
5) Windows goes through some things then brings me to DOS prompt
asking for Administrators password. I don't have one, so I press ENTER.
6) Now I have a C:\WINDOWS prompt.

Now what?

Am I taking the right steps? What happened to my computer all of a
sudden? It was working fine last night. "Looked" fine this morning.

TIA,
Diane
