What might have happened is that the attempt at the long filename 
program might have kept it from running at startup. There are two 
programs that I have downloaded that help to remove programs safely 
including startup programs. The first is 'addremove4good' , the second 
is startupCPL. You might want to download and try them. Use Google to 
search for them.
