I haven't given up yet Janice.  :-)
Here are a couple more things you should try:

1. I think someone else posted a link to this HP utility to troubleshoot 
network printer problems.  Download this small utility and run it to see 
if it can figure out what the problem is:

2. Since the printer "did" work fine at one time, could you try using 
Win7's System Restore to go back to a date when the printer worked?  
Start button, type "system restore".
  Hope they work!
