Aziz, I am Paul Muddha, currently working as a divisional manger in Canara Bank.
joined Canara Bank in 1991 as a telephone operator through the exam conducted
by SSC.
I got promotion in 1998 to officer and then to manager and now as chief manager
in 2018. Few facts, I got Jaws software after fighting with the management for
23 years and now all vi employees are getting jaws very easily.
Although I moved from different cadres right from telephone operator, all my
postings has involved talking over phone/ landline or mobile to clients,
branches and now I head the call centre and more talking over phone.
Many superiors have viewed visually challenged differently; some softly and
many more rudely sometimes insulting and disregarding the disability.
Don’t worry my friend, where ever we work the environment will be against us
and we need to be cool and contribute what ever possible from our end.
I think banks are better place to work for vi candidates rather than in private
/ software which requires constant updation of knowledge and keep up with the
challenges.
You get increments, higher wages in revisions, and high in Da unlike private
sectors.
