Dear All, Thank you for sharing this information regarding the proposed introduction of charges on UPI transactions.
In my opinion, I strongly oppose the proposed change. UPI has become an essential part of everyday financial transactions, particularly for small-value payments. Its simplicity, accessibility, speed, and zero-cost nature have encouraged millions of people to adopt digital payments. Introducing charges on UPI transactions, even if nominal, could discourage individuals and small businesses from using digital payment services. It may also disproportionately affect people who depend heavily on UPI for routine transactions and have limited access to alternative payment methods. While I understand the need to ensure the sustainable maintenance and development of payment infrastructure, I believe that the costs should be managed through other sustainable mechanisms rather than directly charging users for routine UPI transactions. I hope the relevant authorities will reconsider this approach and continue to keep UPI affordable and accessible for everyone.
