Hi subramani
I believe somebody had posted numbers of various railway authorities a few days
ago.
I think we should write strong letter to railway board and officials dealing
with customer service.
Commercial department which deals with reservations also should be roped in.
Of course, a copy has to go to DIDI, and if possible we should seek an
appointment with her or any other responsible official, like member railway
board entrusted with looking after commercial operations.
And further, the demand for restoring a general coach for disabled and suitably
locating it and keeping it unoccupied, should be given due prominence in any
such concerted effort.
I can envisage many other demands including giving concession in tatkal tickets
at least, which also go a long way in easing travel by PWD.
However, we should prioritize demands duly in accordance with their numerical
effects and level of severity of difficulty.
My experiences range from having disabled coach designated as regular reserved
coach but not being included in display etc. requiring me to circumnavigate the
train twice alone, to not being able to get off at the desired station from
disabled coach due to it being unauthorizedly packed to the extent of
requiring me to exit it through window, etc. etc.
Anyway, I have been fortunate enough to travel in all classes of Indian
railways, but for most of VI general is the only class of travel most of the
times.

Will be glad if you can share them so that I will have a chance to write
about this issue. Also, is there an authority whom we can speak to in
Delhi or even at zonal or regional levels? Pl let me know and provide
numbers if you have.

Dear Sir,
Let me tell you my story:
I was going from Virar to Anand in Lokshakti Express, my ticket was
booked
in handicap coach. When I reached Virar station I found that on chart
there
was no mention of the coach no. SL1, which was my coach and it was
handicap
coach. There is no display board in Virar.
I approached station master, and asked him the position of the coach. He
said that this coach is not there only in the train despite showing him
the
ticket and sent me to S1. Despite of my requests that please call Bandra
station from where this train starts and ask the position, he refused.
The tt of S1 obviously told me to go to my actual coach, which was at
the
other side of the train. I tried going through AC compartment but the
shutter was closed. And the guy did not open. I requested tt to provide
me
alternate accomodation and after bit quoral he did that and sent me to
S4
with my heavy luggage. I waited an hour or so then he came and provided
the
birth.
I have lauged a complaint against the neglegenceof chart preparing guy
and
station master, via pgportal.gov.in, the complaint was forwarded to
westurn
railway and from there to churchgate station, but till today no action
is
taken.
I am waiting few more days otherwise I will write to department of
administrative reforms.
You can laudge your complaint online using pgportal.gov.in.
