Dear Friends Today I have faced the same problem. The enumerator visited my home and did not ask about the question no. 9. I have raised this and the enumerator conveyed apology and said that she didn't expect me that I am a disabled person. At last I have suggested the enumerator to ask about the question no 9 immediately after entering the house to be enumerated. The enumerator responded positively. I also suggest you to bring this fact to the concerned authority for appropriate action for strictly entering the information against question no.9.
I hope the access India and other organizations may take up this issue and take appropriate action. Yes lot of time and resources has been spend on awareness on Question 9 of the on-going Census this year. However there are cases where this question was not asked. This evening, I was the guest speaker in one phone-in programme of one FM Channel on the topic Census and Disability. There was one caller who called during the programme and said that he was not asked the question. He himself raised this with the enumerator, to which the reply was "But you do not look disabled, that's why we omitted it". And according to this gentleman, he has 75% orthopedic disability. He even showed his certificate to the enumerator! We received few other similar complaints in our helpline as well. And mind you all the complaints we received till now are from Kolkata city and not from the districts.
