Please refer to the section on women with disabilities mentioned in eleventh
five year plan. This section talked about specific needs of disabled women
like reproductive health needs, punishments to those who force sterilization
on these women etc. This section also included sensitization of police and
other Government departments on violence on disabled women. However, we have
not seen any proactive action from Government on this issues during 11th
Plan period. We need to retain these areas in the 12th Plan and try to
ensure that these commitments are fulfilled in the next Plan period.
