The Social Welfare Ministry has written twice to all other ministrys and
departments asking them to ask their visually challenged employees for their
requirements.
so now I dont know whetehr the employee is not informing their heads of
departments or whether the departments are not conveying to the nodal
ministry I dont know.
I also dont know what is the total number of employees.
So the nodal ministry has got some responses. is that enough or more
employees have been left out. I need to know.
I am reaching out to each of you so that you can each give me a few names
and also you will be able to help your friends who are not so good with
choosing the technology.
Please understand that I am trying to help the court although it is the job
of the government and of the so called great organisations who have so many
members .

Good beginnings, of course.
Application of scribe guidelines to recruitment exams is praiseworthy.
Adoption of August 1 2011 OM of Central government about promotion to
unreserved posts by state government is also good step.
Of course, all educational material has to be available in accessible
format.
However, my concern is that today's education is so visually oriented that
it feels almost impossible to communicate all information accessibly to
blind. Alternative strategies have to be designed.
Of course, technology order is path breaking but the concern is that in
the absence of any specific directions by government to department heads,
they won't accept whatever requirements a visually challenged employees
gives them.
I will try to search the relevant GR of maharashtra government.
However, Kanchan, it would be really good, if you could compel the
government to provide the copy of each GR it has issued, at least in as a
result of these special hearings for further reference, as it is often
impossible to locate their GRs on their website.
Implementation of all these steps will be of course another battle.

Although this is a salutary direction (Order), my contention is that if at
all, all the books for study first need to be made available in accessible
format in reasonable time rather than past papers. Of course, if we were
to
take the argument that all that is available to sighted students also
needs
to be available to the blind then what about guides?
Please do not take this as undervaluing the order but only that so many
other requirements need to be fulfilled.

Twelth standard in Braille.
anyone who knows anything on this subject please let me know.
Also if they havent been available in Braille then are they available in

if not available then how did visually challenged manage so far?
In the meantime under court directions, it is being arranged. Wait for
more information on this topic.
