It is a long drawn litigation combining various parties and the court thought it fit to have special hearings since the beginning of this year in all those matters to lay down a few general points. Much good work has been done and various orders are passed. Scribe guidelines are there way back from 2006 in maharashtra, they have been fine tuned to imply that one grade junior means one year junior and so on. But they are essentially confined to maharashtra and may serve as a guide for national guidelines. Besides, actual implementation of all good orders passed is also a long drawn and collective work. Any individual relief is still not given, to my knowledge at least, in those special hearings.
Technology order is there, which obliges state and now even PSUs to provide assistive technology to all blind employees.
