I never asked for any explanation about the terms I've been using since my first mail on this subject, I'm quite familiar with them. What I raised a question was about the utility of those when some selected Indian sites only are having this kind of system and not valid on all sites!. ----- Original Message ----- From: "bhawani shankar verma" <bsvermad...@gmail.com> To: <accessindia@accessindia.org.in> Sent: Monday, March 26, 2012 7:00 PM Subject: Re: [AI] levy or processing fee is being charged by payment gateway
3d secure password is a password which you have to creat while registering your card with visa and your bank. OTP password, you have to send sms for OTP password and you will get 3 or 4 digit numeric code. which is valid only for 30 minutes. cvc, is a 3 digit card verification code, is required if your card has 16 digit. in my case. my 16 digit card number, then a 3 digit cvc code, 16+3 19 digits. my 3d secure password is which i registered with visa. while making payment as i fill the details of my credit card, the payment gateway takes me to pnb.electracard.com where i have to submit my 3d secure password. i did not registered myself for IVRS, in that case i can not be provided OTP password for IVRS transactions. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vikas Kapoor" <dl.vi...@gmail.com> To: <accessindia@accessindia.org.in> Sent: Monday, March 26, 2012 8:16 AM Subject: Re: [AI] levy or processing fee is being charged by payment gateway > One time password, verified by Visa, 3D secure password, whatever be the > case, the gist of the matter is not all sites require this so called extra > layer, so what is then the use of it? > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "bhawani shankar verma" <bsvermad...@gmail.com> > To: <accessindia@accessindia.org.in> > Sent: Monday, March 26, 2012 7:41 AM > Subject: Re: [AI] levy or processing fee is being charged by payment > gateway > > > OTP is only for IVRS system. not for online transaction. for online > transaction you have to registered your credit card with visa. your bank's > website should have a specific link to connect you to that registration > page. if your card is not verified with visa or master, you can not make > online payment through your credit card. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Vikas Kapoor" <dl.vi...@gmail.com> > To: <accessindia@accessindia.org.in> > Sent: Sunday, March 25, 2012 11:38 PM > Subject: Re: [AI] levy or processing fee is being charged by payment > gateway > > >> But what about some foreign sites which don't have any provisions of OTP? >> I >> can quote some of the site which do not even require the CVV Code, one >> such >> site is ENotes.com.
