Dinesh,

Have a look at http://www.ezaudit.com/ . We have been using this tool
with great success over the past couple of years. It is configurable and
I use a Group Policy to update our records every three months...The
product has risen slightly in price since we got it but it is still in
my mind reasonable. Have a look at the free evaluation.

I think managing asset (Specially, desktops, laptops and servers) is the
biggest challenge. It would be great, if some one have any idea.
I normally run wmi script and grab output in excel sheet but I am
looking some database system in background and some more intelligent
front-end software.

Regards,
Dinesh Tashildar
