Ann, We do maintain a stand-alone policy on Paid Parental Leave (VI.E.3)<http://www.purdue.edu/policies/human-resources/vie3.html> separate from our other leave policies. The reason for the separate policy is mainly because other leaves are dependent upon an employee’s classification, whereas parental leave is the same for everyone.

We already have maternity leave as a benefit, and the university wants to expand that to include all parents. What are your thoughts: is something like this a "policy" or "benefit?" Do any of your schools have examples of paid parental or maternity leave policies in place that you can share? Thanks in advance!
