Hi Ann, At Indiana University, there is not a “paid parental leave” policy per se but there are two policies that encompass that topic:
1. http://policies.iu.edu/policies/categories/human-resources/time-off/fmla.shtml (Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) Rights) 2. http://policies.iu.edu/policies/categories/human-resources/time-off/discretionary.shtml (Discretionary Leave of Absence) You have to read through both policies for the details but “paid parental leave” concept is addressed in the narratives. We already have maternity leave as a benefit, and the university wants to expand that to include all parents. What are your thoughts: is something like this a "policy" or "benefit?" Do any of your schools have examples of paid parental or maternity leave policies in place that you can share? Thanks in advance!
