Your hard drive must run at 7200RPM and make sure your effects window
isn't active. This should help you. As for it being external, I don't
know. I have heard the same thing but have no proof. I suppose I
should try it one of these days and see if it will operate using my
external. Perhaps someone else on this site has better information.
