I can't imagine how you arrived at your beef. While any idea at all has some currency somewhere, it's not the majority case that contemporary art is antagonistic to empathy, or projected subjectivity; in fact, it's the opposite. But I'll add that much confusion exists about contemporary art because it aims to be outside the familiar.
