OK - this goes back to the mid 1980's but I had a friend of mine who worked
at the time in the recording industry, go with me to pick out a system -
receiver, turn table, cassette recorder and speakers. (Yes, cassette
recorder - I told you it was mid-80's)  We walked out with Bose 301
bookshelf speakers.  He said for the money, they were by far the best.  I
loved them!   I also remember that the day I was in the shop purchasing my
system, a sales rep was in there showing the store the next great thing for
music - Compact Discs.  He had a player and a recording of Paul McCartney's
"No More Lonely Nights" and everyone was just amazed and the difference in
quality between vinyl and the CD.
