Haven't tried it at all but the company website says it's polyurethane. I never thought it looked worth trying for posts but thought it might work to pour it around a splice case to make a foam block like Chuck was talking about. Now that I'm thinking about it though, it wouldn't just be a pocket but you'd have to cut it off the case if/when you ever needed to get into it since it would be a formed blob.

I am thinking of making a large cube of styrofoam that has a pocket for the splice case. Direct bury it all with a locate ball. Need back in, just cut the sod and pull out the styrofoam. The strength of a block of styrofoam is in the same range of firm to stiff soil. Lot less money than a handhole. You could use a hot blade and cut it up to get it out if you needed the slack coil. Does anyone have any alternate suggestions for a vault to hold a FOSC 450A splice closure? HDPE would probably be preferable, but I could do a concrete polymer if necessary.
