I believe it is 450i at AP and SM. So it would kind of make sense only to move over some high bandwidth customers and offload the existing AP.

Ken,

Correct, we would have to make a network wide change to 5ms. That's a
bummer and hope to avoid. Our first call to action is to
correct/improve SM's with poor links and go from there. I'm
considering a move from 75% downlink to 85% downlink as well.

Is 5.1 & 5.2 available in the 450 platform? Last I heard it was
different hardware and not compatible with 5.4/5.7 450. Carrying all
new 5.1ghz SM's is a pain, but doable if we have to.

Really, gotta fix those 1X and 2X subs.

Can you add an AP in 5.1 GHz?

All of the above. This particular tower has 12 AP's installed. It's
physically overloaded and shares spectrum with two other towers in the
area.

We have several 1x and 2x subs on each AP that need to be
improved/removed. According to the capacity planner this may be our
best bet in providing some breathing room.

is adding an AP physically tough (tower space, winter time etc.) or
logically tough (not enough spectrum)?

just curious

Sean, I think you're correct. Adding an additional AP will be tough in
this particular situation. Just trying to squeeze as much as we can
our of this AP.
