When we found oil in North Dakota, that argument was pretty much settled. Until they find Lithium in a Chicago suburb or they figure out they don’t need Lithium, it’s oil 1, electric 0. That is unless you have an HOV lane in your city and a wife that is much happier because she doesn’t have to put up with traffic. Then it’s electric 99, Oil 6, husband 1000.

I read recently that in the US electric cars were considered the better option in the early days (like 1890-1910). Then we found out Texas was made out of oil and the economic argument went the other way. On 4/1/2016 9:54 AM, Bill Prince wrote: I honestly wouldn't get in line for one today. Tesla has never been "on time", but they make decent cars when they cost around $100 grand. When they're "giving them away" for $35,000, it may be a whole new ballgame. But the arguments for an electric car are getting better day by day. In 18 months or so, they may tip over to the point of working for a majority of buyers. I can wait until then to see how it works out. bp <part15sbs{at}gmail{dot}com> On 4/1/2016 6:50 AM, Josh Reynolds wrote: It does now... but can it blend? Time it. You will be surprised. 5 minutes. Gotta drive in, park, get out, gas cap off, swipe card, wait for authentication, select fuel, wait for beep, put hose in, pull trigger. Wait a couple of minutes, reverse all of the above, stand in rain, snow gas fumes, noise. From the moment you leave the street to being back on the street 5 minutes. And it costs you money!
