We also do not have much 2.4GHz and attempt to install very few non line of sight links. In cases where we have done a few non ideal installs, we have not done it with 2.4GHz but 3.65GHz.
That said, for your dense urban area, you will be very happy with the new EPMP 2k. We have not done a direct comparison between EPMP 1k, 2k and PMP450 though. The 450i has intelligent filtering, as does the EPMP2k. I think the EPMP has a slight leg up at this moment in time due to the beam steering. PMP450m will probably tip the scales again.
