Hi Jim,

Yes – hypergraphs are required. The hierarchical structures formed out of
binary neurons (binons) are a form of hypergraph. However all the links are “is
made up of” or “is part of” links. And, there are no weights on the links. So
the hierarchies are compositional structures. But also every binon has links to
its two lower (part) binons.

So every binon is a relationship or represents a relationship. And each binon
is then a different type of relationship depending on the types of the two
lower binons involved.

Can you specify or give an example of the ‘globally’ accessible requirement?
What kind of accessibility are you thinking of?

Brett: I think your Adaptron could be used to create interpretable networks of
simple relationships between ideas. Interpretable Networks was the idea that
got me interested in posting to this group again. However, I do not think that
your overarching theory would be necessary and after quickly thinking about it,
I would say that it would be inconvenient. For example, the data has to be
'globally' accessible in some way. I mean that in the most mundane sense. But I
also feel that it is necessary to access data that is related in different sort
of ways. I am not sure if this is the precise term that I am looking for, but I
think that hypergraphs are required for agi and I am not sure if you would
agree with that or not.
