In my forecast I considered the possibility that an engineered bioweapon (which covid was not) could exterminate all humans. I consider it unlikely because it is much harder to design and secretly test a virus that is 100% fatal than one that is 99% fatal, even if everyone has access to cheap machines that concert DNA files to organisms. HIV comes close because of the long incubation allowing it to spread undetected, because it hides by altering your DNA, and because it attacks the immune system making vaccines ineffective. But 3% of humans are immune, and even if nobody was, isolated pockets of humans would survive and prevent further spread.
