I don't like the idea of moderation. Usually that is a BIG mistake. Go ahead and put in words like mf, bigoted rants, personal attacks, bullying.... whatever.... it's a sign of a good message board to be *self-censored*. Some of the conversations on here are interesting, others not so much. People that pursue AGI for real are eccentric. Like it or not that is a reality. Just skip or skim over what you don't like. Ben is kind of the de facto leading authority around here at this point. What that means is that a lot of wannabes go on the attack and try one upmanship.... "opencog is bad because of so and so reason". I remember the same kind of thing happened to Marvin Minsky a lot. There was always somebody trying to discount all of his arguments. The best attitude is an open minded one since there is no working strong AI. I suspect there are elements of everybody's ideas that could be used. Mike A
