Ben was working on Webmind/Intelligenesis 98'ish? I don't remember if he
called it AGI then. That's when I first started representing Sigma
Polyplexic as a theoretical construct and I tried to register the Google
name 2 months after it was taken, polyplexic instead as a variant of
googleplex verses the shortened google :)  But "General intelligence" as a
term was used often then...

AGI as a concept though I believe has been around for hundreds of years and
more recently as just AI.
