Okay, since we're talking about goals here, I might as well share mine.
I need AGI to design my next body. =P I have a bunch of deviant ideas for my next body and I need AGI to work out all of the molecular dynamics for me. That's basically it. Sure AI will continue to be great, I'm not too sure what I'd use it for after that. I'd probably integrate about a long ton of computronium into my mind-network, I don't really have any further plans for it though.
This is the long, short, skinny and marrow of the issue, if the uploaders goo the universe and convert the ENTIRE universe into computronium, then I won't have any place to have deviant fun with my new body. This makes me mad so I behave accordingly. =|
