On second thought I don't know which is more dangerous, a non-p-conscious AGI or a p-conscious AGI. But to answer your question, besides the complicated testing system I briefly described in the other email, I think that you can probe p-consciousness by asking the AGI, if it spoke English for example, you have to delve sub-symbolically, IOW asking questions while decohering the language into representational babble, babble being it not but you'd have to take it down and the response patterns would be indicative of its subjective experience. Forcing it to respond would be required BTW.
