Yes, proto consciousness is non-orchestrated OR.

Orch-OR in the brain exists within all of the other neuron activities and has
interconnection links quantum mechanically to your memories. Your qualia is
you, you exist within and across your memories and other neuron level brain
activities. Your subjective experience IMO picture a rapidly firing (gamma
synchrony) topologically changing graph hosted within and across neuronic
structure. That’s you.

It helps to understand the human a consciousness with models like Orch OR in
order to devise ways of building a virtual consciousness in software. Maybe not
a consciousness for uploading or quantum mechanically interconnected…

Orch OR is pretty good, what other theories out there attempt to describe it
with such physio-electrochemical detail? (I’m unaware of any but would like to
see them)

Yeah, I can't see how ORCH-OR, even if so, could solve the Chalmers "hard
problem"

When I asked Hameroff about this, he basically said he coupled ORCH-OR with a
sort
of weak pan-psychism in which every element in the universe has
"proto-consciousness"
and then the wave function collapse transforms this into full consciousness....
 So the
qualia problem is ultimately pushed into the proto-consciousness associated
with every
particle or whatever...
