You weren't arguing you were engaging in personal attacks.
I am not a member of any group, religion and/or movement. All I wanted to do is to point out that AGI will not ignore one of the most fundamental truths about our existence just because 7,9 of 8 billion people ignore it ... no matter what Bostrom, Yudkowsky, etc. do or say.
Just by looking at the behavior of a random person and a Zen master it should be clear that a different understanding of reality results in a VERY different behavior. Again: This has nothing to do with Buddhism ... just like Ohm's law has nothing to do with philosophy ... it's about a logical and game changing realization. Expecting AGI to ignore wisdom that has been out there for 3000 years is just ridiculous.

So, if anything, what I find hateful is this 'random culturally-accepted belief system' (had to insert the hyphen, sorry) that says people's beliefs ought to be given respect automatically, and the whackier the belief the more respect they should get. Bullshit! You say something whacky and I'll call "bullshit!". I expect the same in return. If everyone I am with at a party says "STFU Colin, you're talking nonsense" (no, really, you'd be surprised - it has happened more than once!) then I tend to get the message and, sometimes, even go as far as changing my opinion!
