As one of the "unusual lot" and as a long time member of th AIR, presenter
at a radiographer conference (X2 papers at the International conf in
Sydney), contributor to "The Radiographer", long term lurker (and sometime
contributor to AIRNEWS discussions) and someone who has spent three years in
a past life studying the upgrading of Radiographer education I would like to
thank those Radiographers (et al) who acknowledge your Nuc Med colleagues.
We have many things in common. Although I know the histories of our two
groups I really don't understand why we do not collaborate more on
professional issues.
Just one comment for the road (as per the last two times the name issue was
discussed at huge length in this forum). Why incorporate the word "Medical"
in the name? Do we need the "medical" term to legitimate our role? Doesn't
it just help label us as being subordinate to "Medicine"? e.g. the name
change from "Paramedical" to "Health Sciences" which occurred at Cumberland
College (Sydney Uni FHS)

PS Good to hear Tony has not changed his opinion since Dec 1999 (one of the
previous times the issue was debated)
