Richard Last year I sold my '87 Gold to a kid whose mechanical
expertise made him the best possible new owner for the car. Whenever I
remembered a new piece of information about Milanos I would send it to
him. To my great sorrow, I forgot the part about keeping the air plenum
leaf-free. As he was driving on the 405 one day, smoke suddenly burst
from the dash vents. The brakes became immediately inoperative as well.
He was able to stop it on the roadside with the handbrake and exit the
car, but though the fire dept. was there instantly the car was a goner.
So: keep them damn leaves out!
