However, have discovered a problem: the repeat mode doesn't seem to want to toggle off, although upon pressing the letter "R" does cause Jaws to say repeat mode on or repeat mode off. The truth is that whoever is working on the winamp programme now is probably a very small development team, and it isn't necessarily a priority project for whoever now runs winamp.com as a whole. So on the page it says 5.91 still, but that isn't the version that's there anymore. I do think not putting the version number in the filename of the installer exe is silly, but whether you have 5.91 or 5.92, it'll likely make little or no difference to you. You saw the changes I posted earlier. There was no interface overhaul, and there never really has been -- the only reason winamp is really still around is that people like the look of the thing, and now it's a nostalgia thing for people apparently (not those of us who always used it and never saw any huge reason to stop of course), so theyr'e not going to change the appearance of it so long as they keep the desktop programme around. As for the annoying bar, I still can't tell you what it is from your description, but there's likely a way to be rid of it if you don't like it. I think you'll have to play around with the settings; do some experiments and see what you come up with. As for the JAWS commands not working, yes, it could have something to do with the interface not being as expected, and so the scripts that execute the commands aren't finding what is expected to be there. Again, go into your settings and see what you find. You might particularly want to look at the skins area of the tree view. I have visualisations set to off, no spectrum analyser, etc. Not sure if that would make a difference or not -- I used to live with a sighted person and some of that stuff was on, but winamp still seemed to work as I expected it to. Still, maybe you can try messing with it and see. Another thing to consider is JAWS itself. DO you have an older version of JAWS on your computer? Perhaps try running that, and see if the scripts work the way they're supposed to there. -----Original Message----- From:all-audio@groups.io <all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: February 16, 2024 10:06 PM To:all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] Another Winamp Problem Yeah...a little tricky; it kind of leads you to believe that you're gonna get 5.91 (and you don't know until you start to install) that it is, in fact, 5.92; may be as Casey is saying "not really any difference" probably just a coincidence that I'm seeing the change; furthermore, I guess that the way it's appearing to me is something that I'm just "stuck with" it's just frustrating when some of those commands that _always_ worked for me; now it's hit-and-miss!" Some were built in to winamp, like the gracenote plugin. The new version I believe removes one or two that were part of the programme. All winamp archive downloads contain a version change log that goes back at least 20 years, so you can see exactly what has been done with the different versions, but most of it is pretty technical behind the scenes stuff that doesn't mean much to the average user. If you still have old winamp plugins that you got yourself and that you like, you can try them -- I don't think I really use any myself, but they should work still. -----Original Message-----From:all-audio@groups.io <<mailto:all-audio@groups.io> all-audio@groups.io> On Behalf Of dennisSent: February 16, 2024 1:33 PMTo:all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] Another Winamp Problem do you have it and do the pluggins still work as before?i heard that you couldn't use pluggins any more.
