cool, that's a good feature!

What do you mean WLM-like? I don't think WLM even has tabs:p
So what exactly did you mean by that ?

Well my opinion is this :
1 - I think that it's a bit of a waste of time... as you
probably know, we're already pretty much short staffed, not
a lot of developers have time to dedicate to aMSN and
development isn't as active as before...
I know that colored nicks are your "pet project" so you
added support for contact list and for chat window and now
topcw, and I can understand that and it's good to have
something that motivates you!
2 - We are currently trying to get amsn 0.98 released so the
TODO list and bugs should be fixed... that's I think our top
priority... It also basically means that we want bugfixes
and we don't want to add new features that might add bugs...
3 - if the feature is already done, then great! I don't mind
it being added to SVN, considering how development is slow
now, I think it will get tested enough before we release, so
it's fine for now!
4 - The tabs don't look like buttons, they look like a
simple image in there, I'd like to see some relief to the
buttons.. (just look at the current tabs and try to
replicate the look and feel of it).
Keeping the same feature/look but just adding the capability
to add smileys/colorednicks is important I think
5 - Don't take everything I said badly, I just feel that we
have a list of high priority stuff that are *blockers*..
that we can't make a release without finishing them, and the
colored tabs was not one of them.. so if you could spend
some free time on aMSN, it would have been helpful to do it
on our TODO list rather than on something low priority.
However, like I always say, aMSN is composed by a group of
open source developers and we have no hierarchy and everyone
is free, so you can in theory do whatever you want and whatever
motivates you the most. Getting work done that motivates you
is better than not doing anything!
6 - Make sure you test the code correctly with the different
options that can make the code path change.. so if you have
a [::config::getKey whatever] in the code, make sure to test
the code with and without the 'whatever' option.. also try
to test it with and without the colorednicks plugin.. most
of the bugs we find are usually because developers tend to
test a feature with their own options (like voip controls
that i never tested with the option 'use a single dp
frame'...)

That's it, keep it up! :)
