Yes they are much more fun and they are the future. For gamers. Those teenagers(of any age) who spend parents money on PSP or PS3. For people who can allocate dedicated time to games (not just play while commuting or short sessions). So on specialized mobile gaming platforms (and Google/vendors have a chance to use Android to become one) they will eventually be insanely popular.
Meanwhile, if Android devices will not take off as gaming gear (e.g wrong formfactor, joistick, marketing(N-Gage1/2) ) it will be as sweet for casual games developers as iphone, j2me and symbian devices. (like you know, minesweeper and solitaire could be accounted for more wasted man-years than Quake 3 though the later is more fun and advanced) There is another threat to authors of casual games like tbrethel or myself and may be delight for end-users and carriers: web based and flash games. As device enables good enough access to such games then there is little incentive to invest in porting casual games to mobile platforms.
