Why keep on spreading lies about apps that are obviously not games? Why would you call Google Maps a game? Why would you call teaching or music program a game? You're a fucking moron. ----------------------------------------- Hi tberhel, I'm trying to keep the dialogue here respectful & useful. There's little to be gained by flaming out and calling people "morons". I'm not trying to attack your application but simply trying to help us all understand why some applications were or were not chosen. I have several friends who's apps didn't make it through Round 1 and who are now working on Round 2. So my posts here are attempts to understand what happened in Round 1 so those lessons can be applied to efforts in Round 2. If you read the write-ups for each of the applications I mentioned as games, you’ll see that their creators are calling them games. As I’ve never seen these apps myself, I’m willing to take their word for it until I know different. Joyity: Game combining geographic content with mobile game play. Rayfarla: Turns your phone into a musical instrument as well as providing a variety of mini games that are music related. City Slikkers: A Pervasive Game (alternatively Location Based Game) which takes place in the real-existing city. Missing apps: All or none could be games for all I know As for location-based gaming (i.e. games using Google Maps), I don’t see any reason why a game could not be created by overlaying functionality on a Google Map. It’s actually implied by the very concept & definition of “location-based gaming”. A search for “google map game” brings up numerous applications deemed “games “ by a large number of people. Just because some believe that games need not be narrowly defined doesn’t mean they're morons.
