I'm sorry to hear that Google I/O for Android was not that great.  I
really wanted to go to that and thought it might keep momentum going.
My fear is that if there are no retail devices running Android by 3rd,
possibly 4th Q this year, then Google will have a really hard time
getting Android developer (and marketing) momentum back.  And maybe
Google doing phones is a bit of a stretch anyway, in terms of business
focus?

BTW, I vehemently disagree that iPhone is "The One".  The mobile
market is vast.
