Anil, I was having a think about your situation and I think it would really make sense to have a look at Java ME or Blackberry. With Java ME even if you only concentrated on Nokia Series 60.3 and on you are still talking about a market in the 10s of millions. It seems like every second person I know owns a Nokia N95, not sure what it is like in the States.
Have a look at www.handango.com and www.getjar.com for potential marketplaces. If you are worried about Java ME being ugly or fragmented take a look at the Lightweight UI toolkit https://lwuit.dev.java.net/. Even though it doesn't support all handsets the user base of the handsets it does support would be in the numbers that iPhone and Android will be dreaming about for quite some time. If you think nobody is making money in Java ME look at the story of Mig 33. They are getting about 80K+ downloads a week on Getjar alone. However, I think Juwo would be a really good fit for the type of user Blackberry attracts. I thought I read Blackberry are trying to attract developers with some kind of developer fund. The new Bold and Thunder handsets don't look too bad either. Finally, there is that Samsung Instinct developer contest. Even if you don't win it would allow you to get your app. in front of people at Sprint. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
