They aren't selling hardware platforms now, any more than you see Linus Torvalds on street corners selling TiVos. T-Mobile is selling hardware platforms based on Android. Eventually non-carriers will be selling hardware platforms based on Android. They need to be leading edge of any marketing efforts.
