Don't get me wrong, I feel your pain. Or rayjer Rakesh and Sandeep's ;) But as he Android Market is currently set up its your only option, or rely on people to be honest which doesn't appear to be working.
There's always the option of adding the necessity for a license file which you could revoke if somebody requests a refund, though this wouldn't solve the fast reading issue you mentione.
