I got my letter from LodSys today.

It does not mention 0.575% or any other figure. It simply says "We are
interested in reaching a negotiated non litigation licensing
arrangement . . . within 21 days". A footnote mentions they have the
right to change royalty rates and their licensing program at any time
without notice. It doesn't threaten to sue me after 21 days, but
doesn't promise not to sue me before 21 days either. As legal letters
go, it is actually very polite.

The infringement chart shows that I have a link from my free app to
the market listing for my paid app.

It doesn't seem like forking over the money is a simple thing either.
It seems you need a lawyer just to negotiate the agreement.
