If you have a partner, then the options shouldn't include a "sole proprietorship," or at least I wouldn't think they would. In Colorado, it's easy and inexpensive to form an LLC, which can protect you from liability. A year ago I would have said that I was just being paranoid, but now with lawsuits being handed out like party invites, I'm happy to have an extra layer of isolation between my company and my house.
